Volunteers commit to helping entrepreneurs start a new business or grow an existing business.
Volunteers use their particular area of expertise to help small businesses or entrepreneurs in one of the following areas: building a business plan, marketing the business, financing the business, researching the market, managing the business, etc.
Time needed: Volunteers become members of the Piedmont SCORE chapter and are required to attend one chapter meeting monthly. The volunteers also work out a schedule with the business they are assisting and usually consult with them about 3-4 times monthly based on the availability of the volunteer.
Training Required: Volunteers observe other Piedmont SCORE mentors for 90 days in order to become certified.
Other requirements of participation: Volunteer must have business experience in the area of expertise they offer.
