Volunteer Positions:
Physical Activities Volunteer, Kroc Center
Encourage children (ages 5-13) to unplug from technology by encouraging them to do indoor and outdoor activities (playground, soccer, basketball etc.) Should enjoy working with young children, have patience and a kind heart.
Volunteer Monday-Thursday, once a week, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., day determined by volunteer
Need a background check and volunteer application, plus 1-2 hour orientation.
Homework assistant, Kroc Center
Work with 3-4 children (ages 5-13) by assisting with homework questions. Should enjoy working with young children, have patience and a kind heart. Not a requirement but especially need people experienced in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Volunteer Monday-Thursday, once a week, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, day determined by volunteer. Need a background check and volunteer application, plus 1-2 hour orientation.
Tutor/Smart Centers, Hollis Academy or Grove Elementary
Work one on one with children (ages 6-9), especially with math and/or reading. Should enjoy working with young children, have patience and a kind heart.
Volunteer Monday-Thursday, once a week, from 3-4 p.m., day determined by volunteer. Need a background check and volunteer application, plus 1-2 hour orientation.
Assistant to Speech Club teacher, Kroc Center
Involves working with teens to teach them how to research, organize, and present a speech. Should enjoy working with teens, have patience and a kind heart.
Volunteer Wednesdays, 11a.m. –noon, for eight weeks, beginning June 14. Need a background check and volunteer application, plus 1-2 hour orientation.
Assistant for Toastmasters Youth Program, Kroc Center
Work in Public Speaking program for teens, to help build effective listening and communication skills. Should enjoy working with teens, have patience, and a kind heart.
Volunteer Mondays, 11a.m. – noon, for eight weeks, beginning June 5. Need background check and volunteer application.
