Loaves & Fishes
Loaves and Fishes rescues and delivers food, that would otherwise be wasted, to a variety of partner agencies who then use the food or make it available to those in need.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Rescue Route Driver
Volunteers will pick up food and deliver it to an organization that feeds people in need.
Routes are available 7 days a week during the morning hours. Volunteers can have a regular route or a flexible schedule. Running a route takes about 1-1 ½ hours. Brief training is provided.
Must be at least 18 years old with own transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance. Should be able to lift and bend, possibly some heavy lifting.
Office Assistant
Volunteers will work in the office sometime between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Thursday) or 8:30 a.m.- 3p.m. (Friday) Hours flexible and can be as much or as little as volunteer prefers. Orientation/training will be provided during regular volunteer hours.
Must have knowledge of web based applications, Microsoft Office Suites, and high level of confidentiality.
Special Projects with Loaves and Fishes offer a variety of volunteer opportunities and hours (planning, PR, marketing, organizing etc.)
Rock Out Hunger Annual Fundraiser is held one weekend in the fall
Taste of the Upstate is held one weekend in the spring
Feed the Thousands is held at Thanksgiving (includes November food drive and meal delivery)
